CRU has been initiated by Prof. Dr. M. Shahidul Islam of the Department of Geography and Environment,University of Dhaka. Prof. Dr. M. Shahidul Islam is one of the leading coastal scientists in Bangladesh having immense experiences on various coastal issues of Bangladesh and also in other countries. Under his leadership, a group of coastal scientists and students are engaged to explore the coastal environment of Bangladesh.
