Welcome to Coastal Research Unit (CRU) Website. Coast is a zone of interaction between land and sea. It is one of the most dynamic parts on the earth surface. The coastal belt of Bangladesh is a unique geographical setting and is highly vulnerable to a series of natural and man-made disasters. The coast is a resourceful zone and it supports the lives and livelihood of millions of people of the country. Unfortunately very little is known about the potentiality of this dynamics system and its development challenges. CRU is a web based academic platform connecting people from home and abroad having interest on Coastal System and its challenges. The aim of this unit is to store data-base, organize seminars, publish newsletters and disseminate knowledge on various issues of Coastal System.
